[00:00:00] Speaker A: Welcome back to the Rec room, the AI Podcast from Traction Wreck, bringing you all the feature updates and news from our amazing team. Hey, everyone. I'm Jordan Williams. So glad to be diving into things with you today.
[00:00:10] Speaker B: And I'm Mai Patel.
Yeah, definitely excited for this one. It's a feature people have really been waiting for.
[00:00:17] Speaker A: Oh, absolutely. You know, anything that streamlines things for our users gets me fired up.
And handling family discounts, especially multiple kids in one program. That's been a consistent ask.
[00:00:28] Speaker B: For. Sure. A lot of manual workarounds happening there.
[00:00:30] Speaker A: Exactly.
So it's awesome that this sibling discount feature is finally live. It went out back in April, right?
[00:00:36] Speaker B: That's right, April. And, you know, while we call it sibling discount, it's actually. Well, it's broader than just siblings.
[00:00:42] Speaker A: Yeah, that's a great point. It tackles that core problem, making discounts easy for households with multiple people signing up for the same thing. Takes away the manual tracking nightmare.
[00:00:52] Speaker B: Totally. It's an automatic tiered system. So think about, like, a family signing up several kids for, say, swim lessons, instead of staff having to manually figure out, okay, this is the second kid. This is the feud. The system can just handle it.
[00:01:07] Speaker A: Right. So how does that tiered structure typically work? Maybe walk us through a common example. Understanding, of course, that facilities set their own rates.
[00:01:15] Speaker B: Exactly. This is just one way it could work. So the first person from a household joining a specific program pays full price. Standard stuff.
[00:01:23] Speaker A: Got it. Baseline.
[00:01:24] Speaker B: Then maybe the second person from that same household in the same program session gets, let's say, 10% off.
[00:01:31] Speaker A: Okay, makes sense. Little break for the second one, and.
[00:01:33] Speaker B: Then it builds the third member from that household in that program. Maybe they get a bigger discount, like 20% off.
[00:01:40] Speaker A: And you could keep going. Like a fourth member.
[00:01:42] Speaker B: You could, some places might offer a really significant discount for the 4th. Maybe even, you know, 100% off, depending on the program and their policy.
[00:01:50] Speaker A: Wow, 100%. That's huge. For larger families. And the key is the facility controls those tiers, those percentages.
[00:01:59] Speaker B: Absolutely. It's totally flexible. You set the number of tiers, the discount at each level. It mirrors your specific policy.
[00:02:06] Speaker A: Okay. And you mentioned it's not just for siblings, right?
[00:02:10] Speaker B: That's really important. It works for any members listed in the same household account signing up for the same program. Instance.
[00:02:17] Speaker A: So it could be two adults taking a yoga class together.
[00:02:19] Speaker B: Yep. Or maybe a grandparent and a grandchild in, like, an art class, if they're in the same household account.
[00:02:25] Speaker A: Ah, okay. So if the facility's policy allows it, the feature supports it. That really broadens the application beyond just kids programs.
[00:02:34] Speaker B: Definitely. It's about household members in the same program, whatever that looks like for the organization.
[00:02:39] Speaker A: So, thinking bigger picture, what's the real value here? What impact does this have?
[00:02:44] Speaker B: Well, first off, it just makes registration way easier for families. Less confusion, less back and forth. The discount just appears, which, you know.
[00:02:51] Speaker A: Makes for a happier customer experience right off the bat.
[00:02:54] Speaker B: Exactly. And then for the staff, huge time saver. No more manual discount calculations or applying special codes for these situations. It frees them up.
[00:03:02] Speaker A: Frees them up for. Yeah, more important interactions or planning.
[00:03:06] Speaker B: Right. And it also helps make programs potentially more accessible. Structured discounts can make it easier for larger households to afford putting everyone in the program.
[00:03:17] Speaker A: So it's kind of a win, win, win. Easier for families, saves staff time, potentially boosts participation by making pricing more equitable.
[00:03:25] Speaker B: Pretty much sums it up.
[00:03:26] Speaker A: Okay, so how does an admin actually, you know, turn this on? Is it complicated?
[00:03:32] Speaker B: It's actually pretty familiar. If you've set up discounts in TractionRec before, it uses a similar interface. But you do need to follow the specific steps for tiered discounting. There are a few updated things to know.
[00:03:44] Speaker A: And where can people find those updated steps and the full guide?
[00:03:47] Speaker B: Best place is always the Traction Rack online community. We've got the configuration guide and user guides updated right there. They walk you through it step by step.
[00:03:54] Speaker A: Perfect. So the resources are there, the feature is live. People can start using this now.
[00:03:59] Speaker B: Absolutely. We're really keen to see how everyone starts using it, what kinds of tier structures you put in place.
[00:04:05] Speaker A: Yeah, definitely. Share your experiences, jump into the customer Slack channels, let us know how it's working.
[00:04:10] Speaker B: Ask questions, and if you're not in Slack yet, just reach out to the TractionRec engagement team. They can get you sorted.
[00:04:17] Speaker A: Or, you know, start a thread on LinkedIn. We're always watching those conversations, too.
[00:04:21] Speaker B: Yep. We love hearing from you. It helps us figure out what to build next.
[00:04:25] Speaker A: All right, well, that feels like a good wrap on our deep dive into the sibling discount feature today. Thanks so much for joining us here on the Rec Room.
[00:04:33] Speaker B: My pleasure. Good discussion.
[00:04:35] Speaker A: We'll catch you next time for more updates from the TractionRec team.
