Fresh Has Landed!

Traction Rec just launched the biggest thing in company history, and this episode breaks it all down. Meet Fresh: a suite of AI-powered products built right on top of the Salesforce foundation you already know and trust, designed to modernize your organization and strip away the friction your members and staff run into every single day.

We're talking natural-language registration that feels as easy as booking a restaurant table, facility booking that kills the double-booking headache for staff while giving members an easy way to reserve space themselves, and camp operations that ditch the spreadsheets for good. All without ripping out a single thing you already have.

In this episode, we cover what Fresh actually is, and what it means whether you're a longtime Traction Rec customer or you're eyeing the exit from a legacy system that just can't keep up anymore. This isn't the future of AI. It's the future of community and rec operations, built for the people who show up for their community every day.

Catching us at GA or NRPA this month? Swing by the booth, our team's on-site and ready to talk all things Fresh. Can't make it? Join our next Monthly Community Meetup, or drop into our customer Slack or LinkedIn. The conversation doesn't stop when the episode ends.

Tune in, laugh with us, and get the inside scoop on what’s next!

[00:00:00] Speaker A: Welcome back to the rec Room, the AI podcast from tractionrec, bringing you all the feature updates and news from our amazing team. We're your hosts, Jordan and Maya. [00:00:08] Speaker B: Hey, everyone. [00:00:09] Speaker A: So picture this. It is like 11:59pm and a parent is just frantically refreshing this, you know, clunky community website, just praying they can get their kid into summer camp before it completely fills up. [00:00:22] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, it's stressful. The site crashes. It's basically a nightmare, right? [00:00:26] Speaker A: Exactly. I mean, we expect to be able to book flights or, you know, order groceries with just a single thumb swipe on our phones. [00:00:33] Speaker B: Totally. [00:00:34] Speaker A: So why are we still battling community tech that feels like it's 20 years old? It is, honestly, like using a flip phone in a smartphone world. Why has it taken so long for community tech to catch up to our consumer apps? [00:00:46] Speaker B: Well, because historically, community tech was built to just feed a database. You know, it really wasn't built to serve a human. [00:00:54] Speaker A: Yeah, that makes sense. [00:00:55] Speaker B: It forces the stressed out parent to think in these really rigid dropdown menus. And that is the exact problem being targeted this September 2026 with the launch of Fresh, which is huge. Oh, it is easily the biggest innovation launch in TractionRec's history. [00:01:10] Speaker A: Right. So instead of demanding parents learn, our complex system, Fresh actually adapts to them. But I mean, knowing parents want a sleek consumer experience is the easy part. Actually delivering that is super hard. [00:01:24] Speaker B: Completely. [00:01:25] Speaker A: So how does Fresh community self serve actually bridge that gap for that stressed parent at midnight? [00:01:30] Speaker B: Uh, so it does it by basically mimicking natural conversation. Instead of making them hunt through some nested catalog for like, Aquatics Youth level two, a parent just types exactly what they want. [00:01:42] Speaker A: Like what? Give me an example. [00:01:44] Speaker B: So they just type in swimming lessons for a 7 year old on Tuesdays, and the AI uses natural language processing to parse their intent, and then it instantly surfaces the right options. [00:01:54] Speaker A: Wow. Okay, so just plain English. [00:01:56] Speaker B: Right, Plain English. And then you combine that with a personalized hub that actually remembers their wait lists and their favorites, and you basically remove all the friction. [00:02:03] Speaker A: Which makes total sense because when families are racing deadlines or, you know, comparing kid activities, they definitely are not thinking in data fields. [00:02:12] Speaker B: No, not at all. [00:02:13] Speaker A: They just want reassurance and they want speed. Fresh is meeting them exactly where they are mentally. [00:02:17] Speaker B: Exactly. But, you know, you can have the prettiest user interface in the world, and if your camp directors are still crying over spreadsheets in the back office, the system has failed. [00:02:27] Speaker A: Oh, for sure. [00:02:28] Speaker B: A beautiful front end really requires an equally capable back end if it's easy for the parents, it must be easy for the staff. [00:02:36] Speaker A: Okay, well, I have to playfully push back here a little bit. [00:02:38] Speaker B: Go for it. [00:02:39] Speaker A: Because I hear AI facility booking and my immediate thought is some robot accidentally double booking a chaotic youth basketball tournament right over like a senior aquatics class. Wait, so staff don't have to click through 10 screens just to book a gym? [00:02:55] Speaker B: No, they really don't. It is all about how the system reads and cross references the data. Okay, so instead of hunting through menus, staff can just type a couple of lines on natural language. Just a single sentence. Really? [00:03:07] Speaker A: Like what? [00:03:07] Speaker B: Like book the main gym for youth basketball next Thursday at 5pm and the system just knows. Yeah, the AI extracts the who, what and when from that natural language and it automatically cross references it with your facility grid. So it flags conflicts instantly. It acts way more like an intelligent operational assistant, which rather than just a dumb calendar. [00:03:29] Speaker A: Okay, that is amazing. And it applies that same logic to camp operations too, right? [00:03:33] Speaker B: Yep. It completely reimagines day to day camp management. [00:03:36] Speaker A: Right? Pulling it out of all those disconnected tools and killing the need for endless spreadsheets. So everything finally talks to each other. [00:03:43] Speaker B: Exactly. [00:03:44] Speaker A: But here's the elephant in the room. Usually getting a modern AI experience means you have to rip out your entire database and start over. [00:03:51] Speaker B: Right? Which nobody wants to do. [00:03:53] Speaker A: Exactly. Nobody wants zero disruption to their current seasons. So how painful is this upgrade going to be? [00:03:59] Speaker B: It is completely painless, actually. [00:04:01] Speaker A: Wait, really? [00:04:02] Speaker B: Yeah, because Fresh is an additive layer. It is built directly on top of the enterprise Salesforce foundation you already run on. There's literally no new system to learn and no data migration. [00:04:13] Speaker A: Oh wow. So it's basically like getting a brand new futuristic kitchen without having to rebuild the foundation of your house. [00:04:20] Speaker B: That is the perfect way to look at it. And if an organization is totally new to this, like if they are stuck on legacy spreadsheets, and it is perfect for them too, they get that modern AI experience right out of the gate. [00:04:32] Speaker A: That is incredible. So if you were listening and wondering how to apply this to your own setup, remember your success team is just a call away. [00:04:39] Speaker B: Yeah, and we definitely want to hear from you. You can join the monthly community meetups, or hop into the customer slack channels, or even start a thread on LinkedIn. [00:04:47] Speaker A: And for those of you who love getting hands on, the team will actually be on site this month. The YMCA General assembly in New Orleans and also the NRPA annual conference. [00:04:57] Speaker B: Yeah, you should definitely pop by the booth to test drive Fresh for yourself. [00:05:00] Speaker A: Sure. [00:05:01] Speaker B: And before we leave you today, consider this. If an AI can process natural language to seamlessly book a gym today, imagine a future where your community system doesn't just process a family's registrations right, but [00:05:15] Speaker A: actually uses AI to predict the programs a family needs before they even ask. [00:05:20] Speaker B: Exactly. Just think about that. [00:05:22] Speaker A: We are incredibly excited to be bringing the future of AI to your communities.
