[00:00:07] Speaker B: And I'm Mai Patel.
[00:00:08] Speaker A: And we're diving into a pretty, pretty important topic, I'd say one that affects everyone that uses Traction Wreck and that is payments.
[00:00:18] Speaker B: Yeah, payments are pretty important, right?
[00:00:20] Speaker A: I mean, it's how business gets done.
[00:00:22] Speaker B: So exactly how we keep the lights on.
[00:00:24] Speaker A: So with version 60, attraction rack. Yeah. You all have completely revamped the payment page and we're gonna give you the inside scoop today on what's changed, what to expect, and some of our favorite parts of this new functionality.
[00:00:38] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm really excited to dig into this.
[00:00:41] Speaker A: So let's just start with kind of a high level overview for people who maybe haven't seen it yet. What is different about this page?
[00:00:48] Speaker B: Yeah, so I think when you first pull up the page, you're gonna notice that it's a lot sleeker looking. It has a new look and feel that's really modern.
[00:00:57] Speaker A: Definitely. Yeah, it's a n visual refresh too. And I think for me, the first thing I noticed was just how snappy it is.
It loads really fast.
[00:01:07] Speaker B: Performance improvements.
[00:01:08] Speaker A: Yeah, big performance improvements.
[00:01:09] Speaker B: But that's what I was going to say. That's one of the huge things. Right. It loads so much faster, which means that people aren't waiting around, they're not getting frustrated.
[00:01:18] Speaker A: And honestly, that's kind of a big deal. Because you want to minimize any friction in that payment process. Yeah, right. Like you don't want people to abandon it because the page is taking too long to load.
[00:01:31] Speaker B: Exactly. It really does have like a psychological effect. You know, if it's like, you know, super fast, then, you know, people are more likely to complete their transactions.
[00:01:39] Speaker A: Absolutely. So, yeah, big win there. Just from a purely, you know, user experience perspective.
[00:01:45] Speaker B: Yeah, for sure.
[00:01:46] Speaker A: So other than that, what else is really different about the page?
[00:01:50] Speaker B: So another thing that's different is that before you had that payment in progress status, PIP status. Well, you can say goodbye to that now because what happens is the system only actually records that transaction in your accounting system once the payment is completely done.
[00:02:06] Speaker A: Oh, okay. That's a big change.
[00:02:08] Speaker B: So it's like it takes away that confusion.
[00:02:10] Speaker A: Yeah, I remember that used to cause some issues. Just from a bookkeeping standpoint, you'd see a payment is in progress and you're not sure if it actually went through or not. So this, this makes it a lot clearer.
[00:02:22] Speaker B: Yeah, it gives you like a much more accurate picture of what's actually going on in your financials.
[00:02:26] Speaker A: Exactly. So, so that's, that's really good for kind of the back end stuff. But, but what about, you know, the average community user? Like, what are some of the benefits that they're going to see?
[00:02:38] Speaker B: Yeah, so I think like one of the biggest things is just that, you know, they're going to be able to really clearly see the summary of what they're paying for, like discounts, surcharges, descriptions of like the items, you know, so it's really transparent. Exactly. It's all laid out in a really easy to understand way.
[00:02:55] Speaker A: Yeah. No more, no more head scratching trying to figure out what, what you're actually being charged for.
[00:02:59] Speaker B: Exactly. And I think another really big thing is that, you know, now users have a lot more flexibility when it comes to choosing their payment methods.
[00:03:09] Speaker A: Yeah, that's something I was, I was excited to see. Like, tell, tell me a little bit more about that.
[00:03:12] Speaker B: Yeah, so let's say for instance, you are signing up for this like awesome new membership, but it has like installments, right? Like you have to pay it in installments.
[00:03:22] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:03:23] Speaker B: So you can actually choose to pay that initial amount that's due right now with you know, like a credit card, but then you can actually set up those future installments to be paid through a different method.
[00:03:33] Speaker A: Oh wow. So you could even do like checking account or something else like that.
[00:03:36] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:03:37] Speaker A: That's really cool. Especially if you're trying to, you know, maybe maximize your points on a certain credit card or manage your budget in a certain way.
[00:03:45] Speaker B: Yeah, you have so many more options now.
[00:03:47] Speaker A: I love the flexibility there. And to make even better like all of those payments, both the due now and the future ones were all displayed really clearly together. So you can see everything in one place.
[00:03:59] Speaker B: Right. You're not going to be surprised by a charge that pops up later on, right?
[00:04:03] Speaker A: Exactly. So speaking of managing multiple payments, what about if someone is making a purchase across multiple GBGs?
[00:04:13] Speaker B: Ah, yes. So that's another big one. Right. Like before you'd have to go through like a whole separate process for each one.
[00:04:19] Speaker A: It was a lot of steps, but.
[00:04:20] Speaker B: Now you can just make one single payment even if you're, you're signing up for programs that fall under different billing groups.
[00:04:26] Speaker A: Oh, that is a huge time saver.
[00:04:28] Speaker B: It really is.
[00:04:29] Speaker A: So we've talked about the desktop experience, but what about, what about mobile? Because I know a lot of people are using Traction Rack on their phones these days, right?
[00:04:38] Speaker B: Yeah. So they've definitely made it like very mobile friendly. Okay, so so, you know, you can enter in your credit card information all on the same screen. You don't have to, like, jump around to different windows or anything like that.
[00:04:49] Speaker A: Nice. Yeah, that was always kind of a pain point before.
[00:04:53] Speaker B: Exactly. And I think, you know, overall it's just a much smoother experience, like on your phone.
[00:04:58] Speaker A: So it sounds like you're pretty happy with the changes.
[00:05:01] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I think it's really, really great. They've really thought of everything.
[00:05:06] Speaker A: Are there any limitations we should know about?
[00:05:08] Speaker B: Um, I mean, I think one thing to keep in mind is that right now you can't set like a default payment method.
[00:05:14] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:05:14] Speaker B: So you'll have to select your payment method each time.
[00:05:17] Speaker A: All right, that's. That's fair.
[00:05:18] Speaker B: But I know that they're working on, you know, adding that in for future updates.
[00:05:22] Speaker A: Good to know. Anything else?
[00:05:23] Speaker B: Um, let's see. Oh, another thing is that, you know, the actual, like, payment details, those are only visible in your cart and on the summary page.
[00:05:33] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:05:33] Speaker B: Not, like directly on the payment page itself.
[00:05:35] Speaker A: Gotcha. Okay, so just a couple little things to keep in mind, but overall, it sounds like this is a big win for community centers. Yeah. For users, for everyone.
[00:05:44] Speaker B: Absolutely. I think it really shows that TractionRec is really listening to their users and.
[00:05:50] Speaker A: Trying to make things better.
[00:05:51] Speaker B: Yeah. Constantly improving.
